SCALE FILTERS
Scale is the enemy of all Hot Water Boilers. In hard water areas, the Boiler will scale up and malfunction, unless it is regularly de-scaled or unless a Scale Reduction Filter (like a Brita C150) is used. Don’t cut corners by using a cheap Carbon Filter in a hard water area, as this will lead further problems and more costs down the line!
Check your water hardness with our unique Postcode Scale Checker. The Postcode Scale Checker is available to use on our website, it allows you to identify if the water in your area is hard (scaly) or soft by simply entering your postcode. In a hard water area we suggest our Installation Option of Hardwater 1 or Hardwater 2.
At Crown Equipment Direct we have four professional installation
options:
Soft-water 1, 2, and Hard-water 1 and 2. By using our postcode checker
you can find out which installation you need.
The professional installation package can vary as a result of:
- The complexity of the equipment. Does it involve connecting to
mains drainage?
- Is the equipment installed in a hard or soft water area, which has an
effect on the type of filter(s) to be used
KEY DIFFERENCES FOR EACH INSTALLATION
Soft Water Installation:
Softwater 1 Installation Includes:
- The installer will connect the equipment to the mains water supply
and ensure that it meets all legal and industry standards

Carbon Block Filter (FILTCARHOU) which removes the taste
and smell of chlorine in the mains water
Softwater 2 Installation Includes:

and will connect the drain to the mains waste system
- Installation includes an installation rail (PFRAILKIT) and a

Hard Water Installation

water supply and ensure that it meets all legal and industry
standard requirements

which includes two filters. A Brita scale removal filter
(FILTC150) to connect to the hot water inlet and a Carbon
Block Filter (FILTCARHOU) which connects to the chiller side
Hardwater 2 Installation Includes:
- The installer will connect the equipment to the mains water
supply and will connect the drain to the mains waste system

If you require an integrated Drip Tray with your EZYTAP you will need to purchase an EZTRAY2
The EZTRAY2 requires the installer to modifying the worktop to fit the Drip Tray and to connect it to the mains waste system
(please note that this cannot be done to marble, granite or stone work tops). The installation of the EZTRAY2 can be added
to any of the 4 EZYTAP installation options. The charge for the EZTRAY2 installation is included in the EZTRAY2 Price.
Please note: there should be no extra charges, unless the installation requires unplanned additional work not stated
on the site survey, in which case the Installation Company will contact you directly.
